HDRD is a skater-run organization, comprised of an elected Board of Directors, multiple committees (merchandise, sponsorship, events, public relations, coaching, and skater support), and a dedicated coaching staff. All HDRD members are expected to contribute to these league efforts.
Yes, HDRD welcomes individuals of all gender identities to volunteer and practice. For bouting, HDRD is aligned with WFTDA's gender policy.

Currently we practice once a week in Mountain View but are looking into a San Jose location for the 2026 season.
Yes! We can teach new skaters all the skills they need to know to be safe and successful roller derby players. New skaters must join as a "Sprout" and will be required to enroll in "Root Camp" (dates pending) so they can learn essential skills.
You will need quad skates (not inline skates), knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, mouthguard, and a helmet.
